Shipping policy

Shipping

Shipping costs are calculated at checkout based on your location and order details. We are not liable for shipping and delivery delays. All delivery times are estimates only and are not guaranteed. We are not responsible for delays caused by shipping carriers, customs processing, or events outside our control. Once we transfer products to the carrier, title and risk of loss passes to purchasers.


Furniture Shipping

Estimated Delivery Time: 1-4 weeks (depending on location)

Please note that all delivery windows are estimates. Orders shipping to remote or hard-to-reach areas (including islands) may require additional transit time and may be subject to additional fees.

All furniture is shipped fully assembled and via white glove delivery service.

In certain cases, additional packaging or boxing fees may apply.


Availability & Lead Times

In-stock items typically ship out within 1-2 weeks after order confirmation.

For certain specialty pieces, estimated lead times are listed on each product page. These timelines are best estimates and may be subject to change. We will keep you informed of any updates or delays as they arise.


Delivery Partners

We work with a network of trusted third-party carriers. The selected delivery method will depend on item size, destination, and availability.


Receiving Your Order

For furniture deliveries requiring appointment scheduling, an adult must be present to receive and inspect the order.

Smaller items shipped via parcel carriers do not require an appointment and will be delivered according to the carrier’s standard process.


International Orders

We are happy to coordinate delivery to a freight forwarder or receiving agent for items outside the continental United States; however, once an order is transferred to a third-party forwarding service, McConnell Design is not responsible for any damage, loss, or claims. All associated shipping costs remain the responsibility of the customer.


Returns

We accept returns on eligible items within 30 days of delivery (which means you have 30 days after receiving your item to request a return), unless otherwise noted on the product page. Please note that returns are for store-credit only.

Furniture is subject to a 7-day return policy.

To be eligible for return:

  • Items must be in the same original condition that you received it, unused, and undamaged
  • Original packaging must be used
  • Receipt or proof of purchase

Please note:

  • Customers are responsible for all return shipping costs (both initial and return shipping are non-refundable)
  • Custom or large-quantity furniture orders are final sale and non-refundable
  • Sale items, discounted merchandise, warehouse sale items, and second-quality pieces are final sale
  • Returns will need to be sent to the following address: 150 Bon Air Center, Greenbrae, CA, 94904.

Return Process

  1. Email hello@mcconnell-design.com to request a return
  2. Return requests are reviewed within 3-5 business days
  3. Once approved, we will provide return instructions or arrange pickup for furniture items. For smaller, non-furniture items, we will send you a return shipping label, as well as instructions on how and where to send your package. Alternatively, you may purchase your own shipping label with a shipping agent of your choice.
  4. After the item is received and inspected, a refund will be issued minus:
    • Restocking fee
    • Round-trip shipping costs

Refunds typically appear within 10 business days, depending on your financial institution. Please remember it can take some time for your bank or credit card company to process and post the refund too. If more than 15 business days have passed since we’ve approved your return, please contact us at hello@mcconnell-design.com.

Items sent back to us without first requesting a return will not be accepted.

Exchanges

We only offer exchanges for items that arrive damaged or defective. If needed, please contact us to arrange a replacement.


Damaged Items

While rare, damages can occur in transit.

Please inspect all items upon delivery and notify us within 24 hours of receipt if any damage is present or if you received the wrong item so that we can evaluate the issue and make it right.

To file a claim:

  • Take clear photos of the damage
  • Photograph the delivery paperwork noting the damage
  • Email all documentation to hello@mcconnell-design.com

Important:

  • Damage must be noted at the time of delivery
  • Claims cannot be processed if damage is not documented upon receipt
  • Signing delivery paperwork without noting damage may void eligibility for a claim

If you are not present and request items to be left unattended, McConnell Design and its delivery partners are not liable for damage or loss.

If a damaged delivery is refused, the item will return to the carrier’s terminal while we assess next steps. Claims may take 2-3 months to fully resolve.


Third-Party Handling

McConnell Design is not responsible for:

  • Damage occurring after delivery to a freight forwarder or receiving warehouse
  • Storage fees or damage incurred during third-party holding
  • Shipments arranged outside of our delivery network

Lost or Stolen Packages

Once proof of delivery has been provided by the carrier, McConnell Design is not responsible for lost or stolen items. Please contact the shipping carrier directly to file a claim.


Sales & Promotions

  • Discounts and promotions cannot be applied retroactively to prior purchases
  • Discount codes may not be combined unless explicitly stated
