We take great care in packing every order, but if your item arrives damaged please contact us within 48 hours of delivery at hello@mcconnell-design.com so we can assist you as quickly as possible.
Please document the damage with photos of both the item and the original packaging — this is important for the carrier claim process — and include them in your email. Please also hold onto all original packaging materials until the matter is resolved.
We will respond promptly and work with you to make it right. Because most of our pieces are one of a kind, we may be unable to offer a replacement, but we will do our best to find a resolution that works for you.
Please inquire for international shipping. Shipping costs will apply and all duties are the responsibility of the purchaser.
We carefully select only vintage and antique items in good condition or better — pieces with the kind of honest patina and character that comes with age, but without damage that compromises their beauty or integrity.
We do our best to accurately represent the condition of every item through detailed photos and product descriptions. Please expect signs of wear and use appropriate to the age of each piece — antiques and vintage items are rarely perfect, and that's a part of their charm and character.
Occasionally we offer "seconds" through special warehouse sales — items that don't meet our usual standards for condition but are still worth a second life at a reduced price. These are clearly marked and priced accordingly.
If you'd like additional photos or have specific questions about a piece before purchasing, please don't hesitate to reach out. We're happy to help.
Generally speaking, an item is considered antique if it is 100 years old or older, while vintage refers to items that are at least 20-30 years old but less than 100 years. True antiques are rarer, harder to source, and typically more valuable.
At McConnell Design, we specialize in fine antiques and carefully selected vintage pieces, sourced in Europe and the United States. Every item in our collection, whether antique or vintage, is held to the same high standard of quality, beauty, and authenticity.
